Tiny, bold and bright, this dyed blue agate sphere is an easy way to add a splash of color to a shelf or grid.
Its color comes from dye, which agate takes well because it is slightly porous, so the blue is bold while the natural banding still shows through. Set it in a crystal grid, a small dish on your desk or a mini sphere display, or tuck it into a gift bag as a little extra. It is a fun first sphere for someone new to crystals. This is the exact sphere shown.
The sphere is about 1.5 by 1.5 inches. Look through the photo to see its color.
About Agate
Agate is a translucent, banded variety of microcrystalline quartz. Its bands form as silica is deposited layer by layer inside a rock cavity, and some cavities end up lined with sparkling druzy crystals. Agate is slightly porous, so it takes dye well, which is how most vividly colored agate in the trade is made.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
Add a Sphere Stand
Small spheres look sweet in a dish, and a little stand gives a special one its own spot. Browse our crystal sphere stands and holders for wood, metal and acrylic styles, and check the stand size against the sphere diameter.
