FAQs

Yes. Rock Paradise has sold natural crystals and minerals since 2015 to more than 60,000 customers. When a stone has been treated or is man-made, we say so in the listing. That includes heat-treated citrine, dyed howlite and stalactite slices, and man-made stones like opalite and goldstone. If you ever have a question about a specific piece, contact us before you buy and we’ll tell you what we know about it.

For one-of-a-kind and “Pick Your Exact Piece” listings, yes. Each piece is photographed individually, so the crystal you see is the exact one we ship. For listings sold by size, weight or quantity, such as tumbled stones, bags and multi-packs, you’ll receive pieces that match the description and photo. Each one is natural, so color and pattern vary slightly.

Some, and we label them. Most citrine on the market is heat-treated amethyst. Black onyx is usually dyed chalcedony. Turquoise-colored howlite and some stalactite slices are dyed. Opalite, goldstone and blue sunstone are man-made glass. We list these openly so you can choose natural stones if that matters to you. Everything else in our crystal collections is natural material, cut or polished.

Our customers’ long-time favorites are amethyst, rose quartz, clear quartz, citrine, agate, labradorite, selenite, fluorite, black tourmaline and pyrite. They’re popular for their color, availability and range of shapes, from tumbled stones to large display pieces. Browse the A–Z list above to see every type we carry.

Start with durable, affordable stones that are easy to care for: clear quartz, amethyst, rose quartz, citrine, black tourmaline and tumbled agate. Tumbled stones and small points are a low-cost way to build a first collection. Hearts, palm stones and towers make easy display pieces or gifts.

Keep selenite, celestite, azurite, malachite, fuchsite, desert rose and lepidolite dry, because water can dissolve, flake or dull them. Amethyst, rose quartz, celestite and fluorite can fade in strong direct sunlight. Vanadinite contains lead, so treat it as a display-only specimen and wash your hands after handling it. When in doubt, dust gently with a soft dry brush or cloth.

We source from mining regions around the world. Examples include amethyst and agate from Brazil and Uruguay, celestite and ocean jasper from Madagascar, vanadinite and barite from Morocco, Mexican onyx and calcite from Mexico, and septarian from Utah. Where we know a stone’s origin, we list it in the product title or description.

Orders ship from our Los Angeles warehouse, and U.S. orders of $150 or more qualify for free shipping on eligible items. Large, heavy and oversized pieces are packed carefully for safe delivery. See our shipping policy for current rates, delivery times and international shipping.
