Selenite Crescent Moon Candle Holder

White selenite is shaped into a crescent moon with a cup for a tealight, so the stone glows softly when the candle is lit. It measures about 4.55 by 3.25 inches, 1.5 to 1.75 inches tall, and weighs about half a kilogram.

Light it on a nightstand, mantel or dinner table, or set it on an altar for moon rituals and meditation. It makes a lovely celestial gift for moon lovers, birthdays and housewarmings. A matching selenite star holder is shown in the photos.

The opening holds a tealight about 1.5 inches wide; candle not included. Selenite is soft and water sensitive, so keep it dry and dust it with a soft cloth. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and let the holder cool before moving it.

About Selenite

Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, a hydrous calcium sulfate. With a Mohs hardness of only 2, it scratches easily and should be kept dry. Much of the silky white material sold as selenite is satin spar, the fibrous variety of gypsum.
