Purple opal has a dreamy, painterly look, with soft purple and white swirls, and these slabs show it off across a wide, polished surface with a natural rough back.
Use one as a display platter for spheres, candles or tumbled stones, or lean it upright as a piece of natural art. It makes a beautiful gift for anyone who loves lavender tones, and a unique tray for a vanity or entry table.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Slab 1 is about 10 by 8.5 by 0.375 inches, slab 2 about 8 by 6.25 by 0.5 inches and slab 3 about 9 by 6.5 by 0.5 inches.
Purple opal, also called morado opal, is a purple and white common opal from central Mexico. Its purple color comes from tiny fluorite inclusions. It has no play of color and a hardness of 4.5 to 5.5, so it scratches easily.
Stone Meaning: Purple opal is traditionally associated with calm and reflection.
