Mexican Onyx Crystal Platter Slab - One of a Kind Polished, 10.5 Inch

The polished bands of this Mexican onyx slab flow through cream, honey, caramel and green, with natural translucency along its edges.

It works as a display platter on a coffee table, a dresser or a bathroom counter, where it can hold candles, perfume bottles, jewelry or a few crystals. Because it is banded calcite, light passes through the thinner areas and makes the color glow. At about 10.5 inches long and under an inch thick, it is easy to place and move. It makes a thoughtful gift for a housewarming, a host or anyone who loves natural stone decor. This is the exact slab shown.

The slab is about 10.5 by 5.75 by 0.75 inches.

About Mexican Onyx

Mexican onyx is banded calcite, sometimes called onyx marble, rather than true onyx, which is banded chalcedony. Its soft layered bands come from mineral deposits building up over time. Calcite is softer than quartz, so it is best kept away from acids and scratching.

Stone Meaning: Onyx is traditionally associated with strength and steadiness.
