Orange calcite and pale amethyst make an unusual pair, and this cluster shows them off with one long calcite rod on its left side and smaller crystals along the top.
That rod is the detail people notice first, a clear contrast against the soft, light purple points. The smaller calcite bits along the top echo it, so the whole piece looks connected rather than patched together. It is a longer cluster that lies naturally on a shelf, a windowsill or a coffee table, where both minerals can be seen at once. A good pick for someone building a mineral collection who wants combination specimens, or for anyone who likes lighter lavender amethyst over the deep grape shades.
Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation. Calcite, calcium carbonate, often crystallizes later in the same geode pockets, leaving calcite crystals perched on the purple points. Calcite is much softer than quartz, 3 on the Mohs scale, so those areas deserve gentler handling.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
