About Lemurian Quartz and Gold Fill

Lemurian is a market name for quartz with horizontal growth striations on alternating prism faces, first sold in the late 1990s from Serra do Cabral in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Gold fill is a layer of gold alloy bonded to a base metal core, roughly 15 to 25 times thicker than electroplate, and in the US it must contain at least 1/20 of its weight in gold.
