Expecting pale lithium quartz? This cluster will surprise you, with dark brown and red crystals showing through the quartz.
It is a handful sized specimen, easy to pick up and turn over, and one photo shows the underside so you can see the whole piece before it arrives. The color comes from other minerals carried in the stone, including manganese, iron, kaolinite and aluminum. Set it under a desk lamp or near a window where the darker crystals can show their depth. For a mineral collector, it adds a lithium quartz that looks nothing like the usual pale pieces, and for someone just getting into crystals it is a manageable size to start with.
Lithium quartz is a trade name for quartz with a pink to lavender tint, and it is commonly sourced from Brazil. As with all quartz, it is silicon dioxide, hard and resistant to weathering, with a glassy luster.
Stone Meaning: Lithium quartz is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
