This large clear quartz cluster was hand picked in Minas Gerais, Brazil, for one reason: clarity.
Points rise across the whole piece rather than in one patch, so it looks full from the front, the sides and from above. Light passes through the points instead of stopping at a cloudy surface, and the cluster changes as the sun moves across a room. It is long and low, a shape that works on a dining table, a credenza or a wide shelf where it can be seen from more than one side. As with any natural crystal, small imperfections may exist, and they belong to the stone.
Clear quartz is silicon dioxide, hard and highly resistant to weathering, which is why large clusters keep their sharp points. Minas Gerais, along with Goias and Bahia, is one of Brazil's principal quartz crystal producing states, where clear crystals grow in veins of milky quartz. Brazilian quartz was so important that its exports peaked in 1943, supplying wartime demand.
Stone Meaning: Clear quartz is traditionally associated with clarity and focus.
