Fifty quarter size pirate doubloons come in an even mix of four finishes: shiny gold, antique gold, shiny silver and antique silver. The design is modeled on hand-struck Spanish 2 escudo doubloons from 1651 to 1773.

Fill a treasure chest for a pirate party, hide them for a treasure hunt, add them to classroom prizes or tabletop games, or drill them for steampunk and mixed media jewelry. If you want only one color or a particular mix, add a note at checkout; otherwise you get an equal number of each finish.

These are toy coins made of a brass and zinc alloy plated in imitation gold and silver; they are not real gold, silver or antique coins. They are small, so keep them away from young children who may put them in their mouths. Plating may wear with heavy handling.

About Doubloons

The doubloon, from the Spanish doblón or double, was a two-escudo gold coin worth about four Spanish dollars. Real doubloons were struck in 22-karat gold in Spain and its American colonies, and the last Spanish doubloons were minted in 1849.
