Septarian wears its geology on the outside, and a polished sphere shows every crack. These 4 inch spheres show yellow calcite veins, brown aragonite and gray stone in bold, angular patterns.

About Septarian

Septarian nodules are carbonate rich concretions with angular cracks. Polygonal blocks are separated by mineral filled cracks, often calcite, that taper toward the rim. The name comes from the Latin septum, meaning partition. They are sometimes mistaken for dinosaur eggs but are geological formations.
