Rutilated Smokey Quartz Rough Crystal - Natural Stone, 1.5 x 2 x 1 In

Two minerals in one small stone: smoky quartz with rutile needles running through it.

This rough rutilated quartz stone combines the brown tones of smokey quartz with fine rutile inclusions, and because it is unpolished you see the crystal much as it came out of the ground. It is small, about 2 inches at its widest, which makes it easy to keep on a desk, in a cabinet of small specimens or in a pocket sized collection box. Rutilated quartz is prized for its inclusions, not in spite of them, and every piece holds its own pattern. Please note that the stand in the photos is not included with this stone. If you are buying for a quartz collector or someone just getting into included crystals, it is a compact, honest specimen. You get this exact rutilated quartz crystal.

It is about 1.5 by 2 by 1 inches. See how it compares in the ruler photo.

About Rutilated Smoky Quartz

Rutilated quartz is quartz containing needle shaped inclusions of rutile, which usually look golden but can be silver, red or black. Smoky quartz gets its brown to gray color when natural radiation activates color centers around trace aluminum in the crystal, and Brazil supplies most commercial smoky quartz.

Stone Meaning: Rutilated quartz is traditionally associated with clarity and abundance.
