Petrified wood is a tree turned to stone, and this tumbled piece lets you hold millions of years of history in your palm.
Keep it in your pocket, add it to a fossil or rock collection, or give it to someone who loves trees, hiking or natural history. The polished surface brings out the colors and markings left by the original wood.
Each stone is about 28 to 46 millimeters by 20 to 31 millimeters. Color, markings and shape vary from piece to piece.
Petrified wood is fossilized wood that keeps the form of the original tree. It forms when buried wood is infiltrated by mineral rich water and replaced mostly by silica, and its colors come mainly from trace metals such as iron.
Stone Meaning: Petrified wood is traditionally associated with patience and grounding.
