This small rose colored stalactite shows the natural growth pattern of a formation built up layer by layer. It measures about 0.7 to 2.12 inches and weighs around 7 grams.
Display it on a small stand, add it to a specimen box or crystal collection, or use it in jewelry and craft projects. Each piece was hand cut from rough material in the shop's warehouse in Brazil. One is chosen at random, but if you have a size or shape preference, leave a note and the team will try to match it from stock.
Each stalactite is natural, so size, shape and color vary; the quarter photo shows the scale. Small pieces like this look best grouped on a dish or in a shadow box, where the growth pattern can be seen up close. Handle it gently and store it apart from harder stones.
Stalactites form as mineral-rich water drips and deposits layer after layer. Slicing across one reveals concentric growth rings, much like the rings of a tree.
