Soft sky-blue celestite, left raw so its crystal texture shows. These small freeform pieces from Madagascar measure about 11 to 27 millimeters by 7 to 22 millimeters, easy to tuck into a pocket, grid or gift bag.

Place one on a nightstand or windowsill, add it to a crystal grid, or wire wrap it into a pendant. At this price it is a lovely add-on gift or party favor. Celestite is soft and can fade in strong sun, so keep it out of direct light and handle it gently.

About Celestite

Celestite, also called celestine, is strontium sulfate and is often pale blue. Its name comes from the Latin for celestial. It is soft and brittle, around Mohs 3 to 3.5, and Madagascar is well known for its blue crystals.

Stone Meaning: Celestite is traditionally associated with calm and serenity.
