Thin, broad and pink, this halite formation is an unusual take on an everyday mineral.

This thin plate has a broad face, which makes it a good candidate for a small plate stand, a glass cabinet or a shadow box where the crystal growth can be seen straight on. Pink halite has a soft, warm color that sits well beside rose quartz, rhodonite or pale calcite. It is a thoughtful pick for a collector who wants halite in color rather than plain white, or for a friend who would enjoy a reminder of where salt comes from.

About Halite

Halite is natural rock salt, sodium chloride. It forms isometric crystals, mostly cubes, that split cleanly in three directions. Pure halite is colorless or white, and impurities, inclusions and flaws in the crystal can tint it pink, blue, purple, orange or gray. It is soft, about 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale, and it dissolves in water.

Stone Meaning: Halite is traditionally associated with self love and emotional release.
