Large Elestial Smoky Quartz with Gold and Black Rutile - Alligator, 6 In

Elestial quartz is all about texture, and this large smoky crystal has layer after layer of terraced faces.

Collectors call the look alligator quartz, after the ridged, skin like surface, and here it comes with gold and black rutile inclusions inside the smoky body. When light catches those inclusions, the crystal shimmers, so it rewards a spot near a window or under a lamp. At about 6 inches tall, 5 wide and 4 deep, it is a big, solid cluster for a mantel, an office shelf or a mineral cabinet. If you have wanted a smoky quartz with more going on than a plain point, this is worth a close look at every photo. This exact crystal is the one shown and the one you get.

Approximate measurements are 6 inches high, 5 inches wide and 4 inches long.

About Elestial Smoky Quartz with Rutile

Elestial is a market name for skeletal quartz, which forms when crystal edges grow faster than the faces, leaving layered, terraced faces sometimes called alligator skin. Smoky quartz gets its brown color from natural radiation acting on trace aluminum, and rutile adds fine needle like inclusions.

Stone Meaning: Smoky quartz is traditionally associated with grounding and calm.
