This Brazilian amethyst geode was hand picked for its deep purple color and sparkle, and it comes mounted on its own metal stand.
Dark purple is what most people picture when they think of fine amethyst, and the crystals here hold that color across the cavity, with calcite crystals settled among the points for contrast. The stand lifts the geode off the surface, so it reads as a finished sculpture on a console, a hearth or a reception desk. At this size it is a room's centerpiece rather than a shelf accent, and the photos show it from the front, back and both sides, including next to a yardstick so you can judge the scale before you buy. For a February birthday, a new home or a business opening, it is a gift that will be noticed every day.
Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation. Calcite, calcium carbonate, often crystallizes later in the same geode pockets, leaving calcite crystals perched on the purple points. Calcite is much softer than quartz, 3 on the Mohs scale, so those areas deserve gentler handling.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
