Green Apophyllite with Stilbite - One of a Kind, 5.5 In

Green apophyllite and stilbite are two minerals that grow side by side in the same volcanic pockets, and this cluster shows both clearly.

Here the green apophyllite crystals give you the glassy, square sided points, while the stilbite adds bundles of finer crystal, so the specimen has two textures to look at instead of one. Being longer than it is tall, it sits low and steady on a shelf. The pairing with stilbite also makes it a fine study piece for anyone curious about how minerals share a cavity. Give it a spot with side light so the green comes through.

About Apophyllite and Stilbite

Apophyllite is a sheet silicate known for glassy, pyramid tipped crystals, and it often grows alongside stilbite, a true zeolite that forms sheaf or bow tie shaped bundles of thin crystals. Both develop in gas pockets inside basalt. The Deccan Traps of India are famous for this pairing, with pale green apophyllite and salmon pink stilbite found together near Mumbai and Pune.

Stone Meaning: Apophyllite is traditionally associated with clarity and spiritual growth.

Additional Details

• You receive the exact green apophyllite with stilbite cluster shown.
• About 5.5" x 2" x 3.5"; about 445 g.
• Natural, unpolished mineral specimen.
• Apophyllite and stilbite are both soft, about 3.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale between them; keep the cluster away from harder stones and dust it with a soft brush.
