Swirling lavender to deep purple charoite is tumbled into small chips, about 2 to 14 millimeters, and sold by the pound.

Use them for mosaics, resin and inlay, wire wrapping, beading and crafts, or fill a small jar for display. Charoite is found only near the Chara River in Siberia.

Charoite is rated 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale and has a pearly luster, so store it apart from harder stones to keep that luster bright. Rinse the chips and dry them before using them in resin so it bonds well. Keep small chips away from young children and pets. Shades and sizes vary by bag.
