READY - Azurite with Malachite on Matrix - One of a Kind Specimen -

Deep royal blue azurite next to rich emerald green malachite is one of the most striking color pairings in the mineral world, and this specimen shows both on its original rock.

Both minerals form in copper rich deposits, often side by side, which makes this a natural little lesson in chemistry as well as a beautiful object. The blue and green look vivid against the rock, especially under a lamp. It is a great piece for a mineral cabinet or desk, and a memorable gift for a collector or science lover. This is the exact specimen shown.

The specimen is about 2.85 by 2.375 by 1.25 inches and weighs about 100 grams.

About Azurite and Malachite

Azurite and malachite are both copper carbonate minerals. Azurite is deep blue and slowly weathers into green malachite, so the two are often found together in the oxidized zones of copper deposits. Both are soft, at about 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.

Stone Meaning: Azurite with malachite is traditionally associated with insight and transformation.
