Choose small under 25 grams, medium at 25 to 50 grams, or large at 50 to 100 grams. Use one in a rock collection, a science classroom, a shadow box or a wire-wrapped pendant. Ammonites are an affordable, fascinating gift for dinosaur fans and budding paleontologists.

About Ammonites

Ammonites were coiled-shell marine cephalopods, more closely related to octopus, squid and cuttlefish than to the nautilus. Their shells were divided into chambers by walls with intricate suture patterns. They died out at the end of the Cretaceous, about 66 million years ago, along with the dinosaurs.
