Golden brown bands with a silky, shifting shimmer run through these raw tiger's eye stones. Each 1 pound bag holds about 7 to 12 pieces in a mix of sizes.
Tumble them, cut them into cabochons, wire wrap the flatter pieces, or display them in a bowl. Buying by the pound gives you a mix of sizes in one bag. It is a great starter bag for lapidary beginners.
Tiger's eye gets its silky shimmer, called chatoyancy, from quartz that grew in parallel with altered fibrous minerals. It has a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7, and a blue form of the stone is known as hawk's eye.
Stone Meaning: Tiger's eye is traditionally associated with confidence and focus.
