Tangerine quartz gets its peachy orange hue from trace iron, and this raw cluster shows it off across many clear points.
The orange iron inclusions run through the crystals, so the cluster reads warm and bright from a distance and detailed up close. It comes in its natural raw form, with no polishing or shaping, so the crystal faces are exactly as they grew. At a little over 6 inches across, it is a good size for a desk, a bookshelf or a sunny windowsill where the clear points can catch the light. It makes a cheerful gift for a new job, a birthday or anyone who loves warm colors in their decor. Like all quartz, it is hard and stable, so it needs no special display conditions. This is the exact cluster shown.
The cluster is about 6.25 by 5 by 2.125 inches. Look at the in hand photo for scale.
Tangerine quartz is quartz with an orange coating or inclusions of iron oxides such as hematite. Minas Gerais, Brazil is the classic source. Quartz itself is silicon dioxide, hard and highly resistant to weathering.
Stone Meaning: Tangerine quartz is traditionally associated with joy and enthusiasm.
