Sodalite's deep blue suits a study or a home office, and this tall tower point brings plenty of it.
Its footprint is equal on all sides, so it looks balanced from any angle and lines up cleanly with books and frames. The finish is highly polished and smooth, which deepens the blue and shows any natural lighter shading in the stone. It feels substantial in the hand without being heavy to move. Give it to someone starting a new chapter, a new role or a new home, or keep it where you do your best thinking.
First found in Greenland in 1811, sodalite is a royal blue mineral whose name refers to its sodium content. It became an ornamental stone after large deposits were discovered in Ontario, Canada, in 1891, including the Princess mine near Bancroft. It seldom contains the gold pyrite flecks typical of lapis lazuli, which is one way to tell the two apart, and most sodalite fluoresces orange under ultraviolet light.
Stone Meaning: Sodalite is traditionally associated with logic and truth.
