Mica is the mineral that sparkles in granite countertops, and here it shows off in flashy accents. These raw muscovite specimens set shiny mica on a soft grayish pink matrix.
The neutral colors blend easily with modern, rustic or Scandinavian decor, and the mica flashes every time you walk past. It is a great gift for a geology lover or teacher, and an interesting texture to add to a shelf of polished stones.
Each lettered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Specimens are about 4.5 to 5 inches long, 3.75 to 4.6 inches wide and 2.5 to 5.4 inches tall.
Muscovite is the most common mica, a potassium aluminum silicate. Perfect cleavage lets it peel into very thin, flexible sheets, and it has a pearly to silky luster. It is soft, about 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale.
Stone Meaning: Muscovite is traditionally associated with clarity and discernment.
