Most people have never heard of ludlamite, which makes it a real conversation starter on a mineral shelf. These specimens show apple green to bright green tabular crystals growing from a brown matrix.
They are serious collector pieces for a mineral cabinet or a study shelf, and the large sizes make a real statement. For a geologist, a mineral club member or anyone who already owns the usual stones, ludlamite is a gift that sparks curiosity. Each is one of a kind.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Specimens measure about 6 to 9.25 inches long, 5.75 to 8 inches wide and 2 to 3.25 inches tall.
Ludlamite is a hydrated iron, manganese and magnesium phosphate that forms apple green to bright green tabular crystals. It was first described in 1877 from a mine in Cornwall, England, and named for mineralogist Henry Ludlam. It has a hardness of 3.5.
Stone Meaning: Ludlamite is traditionally associated with renewal and inspiration.
