One large point dominates this Lemurian tangerine quartz cluster from Diamantina, Brazil.
The cluster is built around that single giant point, and the orange tangerine color comes from iron oxide, which coats or sits within the quartz in crystals of this kind. Look along the sides for the horizontal striations on alternating faces that identify Lemurian quartz. At about 5 by 4 by 3.5 inches, it is compact but solid, with enough height to stand out on a mantel, a bookshelf or a meditation space. It comes from our own facilities in Brazil, so we know exactly where it started. Give it to a quartz collector, someone who loves warm colors, or anyone marking a new beginning. This is the exact cluster shown.
The cluster is about 5 by 4 by 3.5 inches. The ruler photo shows its size.
Lemurian is a market name for quartz with horizontal growth striations on alternating prism faces, first sold in the late 1990s from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Tangerine quartz is quartz with an orange coating or inclusions of iron oxides such as hematite. Diamantina, in central Minas Gerais, grew after diamonds were found there in 1729, and its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stone Meaning: Tangerine quartz is traditionally associated with creativity and joy.
