WS13-S9
Part polished and part natural, this labradorite cut base pairs a glossy face full of colorful flash with the raw texture of the rough stone. The flat bottom lets it stand on its own on a shelf or desk.
Choose from under 0.5 kilograms up to 5 kilograms; heavier pieces are larger, and shapes range from tall and slim to wide and short. The semi-polished finish shows how the stone looks in nature. It makes a striking gift for rock and mineral fans.
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar with a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5. Its flashes of color, called labradorescence, come from light reflecting off thin internal layers, so the color shifts as you turn the stone. It is named for Labrador, Canada, where it was described in 1770.
Stone Meaning: Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition and transformation.
