WRHS-CALC-1A
Dogtooth calcite gets its name from sharp, tooth shaped crystals, and these large clusters bristle with them. Deep yellow orange points of every size rise from a natural stone base.
A specimen this big makes a dramatic centerpiece for a living room, office or library, and it catches warm light beautifully in the evening. It is a showpiece for a serious collector and a memorable gift for a milestone birthday, retirement or new home.
Each lettered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Clusters measure about 6 to 8.5 inches long, 4 to 6 inches wide and 3.6 to 6 inches tall. The crystals have a natural glassy luster.
Calcite is calcium carbonate with a hardness of 3. Dogtooth spar is calcite that grows as sharp scalenohedral crystals, named for their resemblance to dog teeth. It forms in caves, veins, fractures and geodes.
Stone Meaning: Calcite is traditionally associated with emotional balance.
