HE-CRY145
Some crystals record their own growth, and this giant quartz point holds two phantoms near its tip.
A phantom forms when a growing crystal is briefly dusted with sediment or changes composition, then keeps growing over it, leaving a ghostly outline of its earlier shape inside. Here two of those outlines sit near the tip, and the close up photo shows them clearly. The exterior keeps natural inclusions and rough textures, so it reads as a raw crystal more than a polished ornament, and it comes on a stand that holds it upright. At over 20 inches tall, it can anchor a living room, a lobby, a studio or a meditation room, and it is heavy enough to want a stable surface or a spot on the floor. This is the exact quartz point and stand shown.
Phantom quartz shows the outline of an earlier crystal inside the finished one. The phantom appears because the composition changed, or mineral inclusions settled, at the boundary between growth stages. Quartz is silicon dioxide, one of the most common minerals on Earth, and it is highly resistant to weathering.
Stone Meaning: Phantom quartz is traditionally associated with growth and transition.
