An amethyst cathedral brings the inside of a geode out into the open.
This one was hand picked in Brazil for its soft purple crystal, a gentle lavender tone that suits calm, light filled rooms more than a dark jewel purple would. It stands nearly two feet tall on a cut base, so it can sit on the floor beside a chair, on a sideboard, or on a sturdy plinth in an entry or office lobby. Look into the hollow and you see crystal points lining the whole cavity, each catching light differently as the day changes. It is a serious piece for a home, a yoga studio, a meditation room or a collector ready for a large geode.
An amethyst cathedral is a tall section of a geode, cut so it stands upright with its crystal lined hollow facing out. Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation, and large amethyst geodes are mined mainly in Brazil and Uruguay.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
