Nothing about a citrine cave this heavy is subtle, and that is the point.
Cut from a thick natural amethyst geode and heat treated to a deep golden orange, this cathedral has a squat, solid build with walls you can see in the side photo. The flat cut base and front let it sit square on a sturdy console, hearth or floor beside a fireplace, facing the room. It suits a collector who wants a serious golden centerpiece, or a business lobby that needs one striking natural object.
A citrine cathedral is an amethyst geode section that has been heated, which turns the purple quartz golden to orange; naturally colored citrine is uncommon, and most citrine on the market is heat treated amethyst from eastern Brazil. Geodes form as mineral rich groundwater deposits crystals inside a cavity in rock, and citrine is a November birthstone.
Stone Meaning: Citrine is traditionally associated with confidence and abundance.
