These rough blue kyanite specimens are packed with long, bladed crystals in light to deep blues, set in a matrix with shimmering mica.
Each piece shows plenty of kyanite blades embedded in the stone, and the mica adds a natural sparkle between them, so they look striking on a shelf, in a mineral display or as raw material for craft and ritual work. Sizes run from about 5.9 to 9.5 inches long, and every number is photographed with a ruler, so you can compare them side by side before you pick. Kyanite is an aluminum silicate known for its long, bladed crystals, and these pieces are left rough and unpolished. They make a thoughtful gift for a mineral collector or anyone who loves blue stones. You choose the exact piece from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. The specimens range from about 5.875 by 3.5 by 2.75 inches (number 4) to about 9.5 by 3 by 3.125 inches (number 7).
Kyanite is an aluminum silicate, Al2SiO5, that forms long bladed crystals, most commonly blue. Its hardness changes with direction, about 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale along the blade and 6.5 to 7 across it, and its perfect cleavage means blades can split. The mica in this matrix is a sheet silicate that splits into thin, shiny flakes.
Stone Meaning: Blue kyanite is traditionally associated with communication and alignment.
