Blue kyanite grows as long, bladed crystals, and this extra large chunk on a metal stand shows them at a scale few shelves can hold.
Standing about two feet tall, it reads as a sculpture: a column of blue blades with intricate natural detail across every face. The metal stand holds it upright, so it can stand on the floor beside a bookcase, on a wide console or in an office lobby. One photo shows it next to a person for scale, which is the easiest way to picture it in your space. It suits a serious mineral collector, a designer looking for a natural focal point, or a meditation studio that wants one large stone instead of many small ones.
Kyanite is an aluminum silicate that forms long, bladed crystals, sometimes in radiating sprays, in metamorphic rocks such as mica schist and gneiss that formed under high pressure. Its name shares a root with the color cyan, from the Ancient Greek kyanos, dark blue. It is unusual in being much harder across a blade than along it.
Stone Meaning: Kyanite is traditionally associated with alignment and calm.
