Four hearts cut from real Moroccan aragonite are available here, all from the Tazouta area.
All four are close in size, so the choice comes down to character: the crystal texture, the color and the outline of each heart. Choose the one you like from the photos and select its number from the menu. A heart this size fills a palm and sits nicely on a coffee table or a desk, and it is a thoughtful pick for Valentine's Day or an anniversary.
Aragonite is a crystal form of calcium carbonate, the same chemistry as calcite with a different structure. The best known Moroccan aragonite comes from near Tazouta, in the Middle Atlas Mountains southeast of Fes, where most specimens are reddish brown from iron oxide inclusions. It is soft, about 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.
Stone Meaning: Aragonite is traditionally associated with patience and steadiness.
