Prefer minerals in the rough? This big, broad aquamarine specimen is for you.
A large aquamarine crystal sits embedded in natural rough stone, giving you both the blue beryl and the rock it grew in. At about 9.375 by 8 inches across and 4.5 inches tall, it has a wide footprint that sits steadily on a bookcase, a console or a mantel. Aquamarine usually grows in granite pegmatites, so a specimen still in its matrix tells more of the geology than a loose crystal can. It is a fitting gift for a March birthday, a geology fan or a new office. The specimen pictured is the exact one you will receive.
Expect a specimen of about 9.375 by 8 by 4.5 inches.
Aquamarine is greenish blue to blue gem beryl, about 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, and its color comes from iron. It grows mostly in granite pegmatites, coarse rocks rich in quartz, feldspar and mica, and Brazil has led world production of gem aquamarine for more than a century.
Stone Meaning: Aquamarine is traditionally associated with calm and courage.
