Golden citrine points come by the half pound or full pound, with roughly 16 to 24 points in every half pound. Most measure about 22 to 48 millimeters long and 20 to 26 millimeters wide.
The raw points are an easy size to wire wrap into pendants, and a bag goes a long way for crystal grids, home decor and small gifts. The quarter photo shows the typical size.
This citrine is heat treated amethyst, sometimes called golden amethyst. Heating turns the purple to warm yellow and amber tones, which is how most citrine on the market is made. Count and shape vary from bag to bag, since points are sold by weight.
Citrine is yellow to orange quartz. Natural citrine color is rare, and most citrine sold today is heat treated light amethyst, much of it from eastern Brazil. It is a November birthstone.
Stone Meaning: Citrine is traditionally associated with abundance and success.
