More than a foot long and full of flash, these labradorite platters shimmer blue, green, gold and rainbow as you walk past them.
Use one as a display tray for spheres and candles, a striking piece of natural art on a console, or a focal point on a coffee table. It is a memorable gift for a collector, a new home or anyone who loves stones that change with the light.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Platter 01 is about 13 by 5.5 by 0.875 inches, and platter 02 is about 13.75 by 5 by 1 inches. Flash shows best under a single light source.
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar. Its flashes of color, called labradorescence, come from light reflecting off internal layers. It was described from Labrador, Canada, in 1770 and also comes from Finland and Madagascar. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5.
