The druzy on top of this pink amethyst cluster is sugary, soft looking and full of sparkle.
The tiny crystals gather into rounded mounds, and they sit on a polished pink amethyst base, so the piece is semi polished: raw sparkle on top, smooth stone below. The polished base also makes it easy to set down on a shelf, nightstand, vanity or desk. At about 5 inches long and 3.25 inches tall, it is a comfortable size to pick up and turn in the light, which is when the druzy really shows. The close up photo shows the druzy texture in detail, and the hand photo gives a sense of its size. It makes a sweet gift for a birthday, Valentine's Day or anyone who collects pink stones. This is the exact cluster shown.
The cluster is about 5 by 3.5 by 3.25 inches tall. Look at the ruler photo for scale.
Pink amethyst is quartz whose blush color is attributed to microscopic hematite inclusions, and it came to market around 2017 from Patagonia, Argentina. Druzy is a coating of fine crystals on a rock surface, vein or geode, and each tiny crystal face catches light on its own, which gives druzy its sparkle.
Stone Meaning: Pink amethyst is traditionally associated with compassion and calm.
