Start or grow a fossil collection with a lot of real fossilized shark teeth, in your choice of 5, 10 or 20. Teeth range from about 0.25 to 1 inch long and come in natural fossil colors from light and dark brown to beige, tan, orange-brown, gray and blackish gray.

The teeth date from the Late Cretaceous to the Miocene, a span of more than 70 million years, and may come from tiger, snaggletooth, hemipristis, nurse, sand, hammerhead and bull sharks. They make a fun, hands-on gift for kids, a classroom science activity, or a supply for jewelry and crafts.

Most teeth are in good condition, but some may be partial or broken, which is normal for fossil lots. Many are still sharp, so supervise young children and keep small pieces away from toddlers. A magnifying glass and a simple shark tooth ID chart make sorting them even more fun.

About Fossil Shark Teeth

Sharks shed and replace their teeth throughout life, some losing tens of thousands, and teeth are often the only part of a shark that fossilizes. That is why fossil shark teeth are common. Their dark or tan colors come from minerals in the surrounding sediment replacing the original tooth material.
