Stalac2-10-03
Every stalactite slice is a cross section of slow growth, with rings of chalcedony and purple amethyst around a crystal center. These have a single drill hole, ready to become a pendant.
Hang one on a cord or chain for a one of a kind necklace, wire wrap it, or use it in a mobile, wind chime or suncatcher where light can shine through. No two stalactite centers are the same, and the flat shape is comfortable to wear. Pick the exact slice from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Slices are about 1 to 1.375 inches wide, 2.125 to 3 inches long and 5 to 6 millimeters thick. Slice 1 is drilled at the top; the others are drilled near the center close to the flat side.
Amethyst stalactites form inside geodes in volcanic basalt, where mineral rich water slowly builds layers around a central core. Sliced across, they show rings of chalcedony and amethyst, often around a star or flower shaped center. They are well known from mines near Artigas, Uruguay.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
