Natural Citrine and Epidote Hand Holding Skull Sculpture - One of a Kind

For anyone drawn to gothic art, a crystal hand cradling a skull says more than any plain point could.

This sculpture is carved from natural citrine with epidote, a pairing that sets warm golden tones against green, and it was expertly carved and polished by crystal artisans from Brazil. The hand holding a skull is a classic memento mori, the old reminder to make the most of life, carved here in stone meant to last. A flat base keeps it steady on a desk, a bookshelf or a curio cabinet. At about 6.25 inches long it is a striking conversation piece without taking over a room. Most citrine sold today is heat treated amethyst, but this one is sold as natural citrine. It makes a memorable gift for a November birthday or an art lover. This is the exact sculpture shown.

The sculpture is about 6.25 by 3.125 by 3.75 inches.

About Citrine, Epidote and Memento Mori

Citrine is yellow to orange quartz, and most citrine on the market is heat treated amethyst. Epidote is a calcium aluminum iron silicate, typically pistachio green, often found with quartz. Memento mori is Latin for remember that you have to die, and the skull is its most common symbol in art.

Stone Meaning: Citrine is traditionally associated with optimism and abundance.
