Twenty triangular faces, all cut by hand: this crystal quartz icosahedron turns a piece of quartz into one of the five Platonic solids.
Because every face is the same, it sits evenly on any side, so you can rotate it until the internal features you like best face forward. It was hand cut and polished to show off the natural variation inside the stone, and each face catches light a little differently. Put it on a desk, a sacred geometry shelf or a study table. It makes a thoughtful gift for a math teacher, an architect, or anyone collecting crystal geometry shapes.
A regular icosahedron has 20 equilateral triangle faces, 30 edges and 12 vertices. It is one of the five Platonic solids, shapes whose faces are all identical regular polygons with the same number meeting at every corner. In the Timaeus, Plato linked the icosahedron to the element water. Quartz is hard and takes a brilliant, glassy polish.
Stone Meaning: Clear quartz is traditionally associated with clarity and focus.
