Plain and solid, this agate hamsa is carved from one piece and finely polished on both faces.
Without a druzy opening, the agate itself does the talking: the polish brings out the color and pattern running through the stone, and the open hand shape reads clearly from across a room. It is light and slim, easy to set on a narrow shelf, tuck into a car console or lean against a frame on an altar. The photos include one on a display stand and one laid flat so you can see the width. Give it to someone who collects hand symbols, or keep it by the front door.
The hamsa is a palm shaped amulet traditionally used against the evil eye, found across North Africa and the Middle East in Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities. It is also called the Hand of Fatima or Hand of Miriam. Agate is a translucent, banded form of microcrystalline quartz, durable enough to take and keep a bright polish.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
