Few carvings are as fun on a shelf as a small stone triceratops.
These little crystal dinosaurs are carved from moss agate, a translucent chalcedony with green mineral threads running through it, so each triceratops has its own pattern. They are sold as is, and each one has imperfections, so look over the photos of the number you want. At around 2 to 2.5 inches long they fit a desk, a terrarium display or a dinosaur fan's bookcase, and several together make a small herd. They are an easy gift for a fossil fan, a birthday or a stocking. You choose the exact piece from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Most are about 2.25 by 1.5 by 1 inches; number 3 is slightly shorter at 2 inches and number 7 is the largest at about 2.5 inches.
Moss agate is a form of chalcedony, silicon dioxide, with a clear to milky base. Its green inclusions form filaments that suggest moss, but they are mineral, not plant. Strictly speaking it is not a true agate, because it lacks the concentric banding of agate.
Stone Meaning: Moss agate is traditionally associated with growth and new beginnings.
