Grape agate takes its name from its tiny purple spheres, crowded together in rounded botryoidal clusters.
Each piece is a comfortable display size for a desk, a nightstand or a collector's shelf, and the texture invites a closer look. Some include touches of green celadonite or white magnesian calcite. It makes a lovely gift for a mineral lover or anyone who adores purple. You choose the exact specimen from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Specimen 1 is about 4 by 2 by 3 inches and 310 grams, specimen 2 about 4.5 by 1 by 2.5 inches and 165 grams, and specimen 3 about 4.5 by 2.5 by 2 inches and 320 grams.
Grape agate is botryoidal, or grape like, chalcedony, more precisely amethystine botryoidal chalcedony. It comes from the Manakarra area of Sulawesi, Indonesia, and is a relatively new find. Despite the name it is not true agate, because it lacks banding. Some pieces carry green celadonite or white magnesian calcite.
Stone Meaning: Grape agate is traditionally associated with calm and spiritual growth.
