This slim blue agate tower is dyed, and that is worth saying up front. It is real agate underneath, cut into a polished point with a flat base.
Agate is porous, so dye is absorbed into its bands at different rates, and the color follows the natural pattern of the stone rather than sitting on top as paint. At about 4.5 inches tall and 1 inch wide, the tower fits a desk, a windowsill, a bathroom shelf or a small crystal grid, and the cut base lets it stand on its own. The stone itself is agate, hard microcrystalline quartz, so it is durable even though the blue is added. It is also an easy gift for someone who loves blue, a coworker, or a friend picking out a first crystal tower. This is the exact tower shown.
The tower is about 4.5 by 1 by 1 inches.
Agate is a banded, translucent form of microcrystalline quartz. Because it is porous, most vividly colored agate in the trade is dyed, and the dye soaks into the bands at different rates, which is why the color follows the stone's natural pattern. The stone underneath is the same hard, durable quartz.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
