DOOAK-S1-33
Polished on the front and left as natural rough stone on the back, this agate and amethyst stalactite freeform shows two sides of the same geode.
The stalactite formations on the face are the main attraction, with plenty of texture to study up close. A light wash of amethyst color gathers near the bottom, a quieter purple than a full amethyst cluster. The cut base lets it stand upright on a shelf or desk. It suits a collector who likes formations more than flash, and anyone curious about how geodes grow on the inside.
Amethyst stalactites form inside geodes in volcanic basalt, built up as mineral rich water deposits layer after layer, and they are well known from the mines near Artigas, Uruguay. Cut across, they show concentric rings of chalcedony and amethyst around a core, much the way a tree shows its growth rings.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
