About Agate Druzy

Agate is a translucent, banded form of microcrystalline quartz. Its bands build up as silica is deposited layer by layer inside a rock cavity, and when the last of the silica crystallizes as tiny quartz crystals, the cavity is left lined with druzy. Each little crystal face reflects light on its own, which is where the sparkle comes from.
